Belly shot

Yeah yeah. Everyone wants to see the belly!

Here is a carefully edited belly shot. That's right, no face!

Little dude is starting to take up more room and I look like I'm hiding a large basketball these days! Thankfully, he has dropped a little lower, so I can now breathe a little easier and don't look so...umm...apple-shaped now! Next week, I hope to have some nicer pics to post up, with S, Me, and the belly!

3D Ultrasounds at 28.5 weeks old

On Saturday, we went to UC Baby and got 3D ultrasound scans done of our little dude. We know it's completely unnecessary, but the technology is so cool and we're so excited to see what he looks like, we couldn't resist and couldn't wait to see him in 8 - 10 weeks. The technician was really nice and the whole experience was amazing and really positive. They even recorded his heartbeat and we watched it on the screen for a few seconds. 146 bpm! We left the UC Baby office with a DVD of our 30 minute session, 2 printed photos, and a CD of about 100 pictures. It took a long time to sift through the photos, but there is a selection of the cutest poses and captures on our Flickr site.

Here's a sample of a few of the poses:

Monthly Appointment - 27 weeks

My 27 week appointment with Dr. V wasn't the most exciting, but it was eye-opening. After measuring my weight (yikes! I thought I was being good!), and belly, he told me that I'm going to look HUGE.

Yup. HUGE.

Dr. V's explanation was that because I have such a short torso and high waist, there's not much room in the abdomen for the little dude to grow, so he's going to be growing outward. S and I have often joked about my weird body shape and that I'm basically a head and arms on a pair of legs, but it never occurred to us that I would look huge as a result of that. This totally explains why my belly is way up high and why I look rounder and more "out there".

Oh well, if that's going to happen, then that's what's going to happen. I'm kind of glad I received advanced notice. It would be really hard on the ego otherwise.

He said that even though I'm looking big, it's doesn't mean that the baby is big. In fact, I'm measuring right on target, so we're looking at an average size right now. In the next 13 weeks, many things could change!
